JOHN CALIPARI MOVES TO UK! 04.01.2009 Memphis, TN University of Memphis now former coach John Calipari has made his new move. Calipari moving will be filling the shoes of University of Kentucky Head Coach. The position became available after UK fired it’s coach, Billy Gilliespie, and offering Calipari the new position of which he decided to take. A press conference will be held at UK today to announce the acceptance of Coach Calipari. The position will move Calipari as the highest paid college coach in the country. He’ll be receiving 35 million dollars over 8 years. The honor winner coach made the decision to take the position as part of a great career move as well. uk.atheletes.com That’s sounds like strike it rich goals to me.. Only though to find him leaving to head to Kentucky. Fans raised signed and gave well wishes as well. One loyal fan bought flowers. Stay! Stay! Stay! They chanted. Only to find him leaving and moving on. The Tiger's coach...is a now Wildcat! "Yee-ow!" The University of Memphis will have to fill THE CALI's position now… Here comes PRESS…. The press conference is scheduled at 12 noon. Speculated top nominees for selection include coaches Tony Barbee and Derrick Kelly.
