HOMETOWN MEMPHIS: NOTES OF HOPE
|
Posted By: MIISRAEL Bride on April 10, 2009 HOMETOWN MEMPHIS: APRIL 10, 2009 NOTES OF HOPE: It's Good Friday... NOTES TO BE KEPT 04.10.2009 Nashville, TN A new bill has been presented by Tennessee State Representaive Stacy Campfield that will require persons using their notes of state assistances like welfare, or on food stamp programs who buy lottery tickets and win over with award prizes over $700 dollars. That's because the winners of those notes will have that bill of rights to only claim $600 dollars of their winnings. Representative Campfield states, "If they are using the funds to buy lottery tickets, when they're suppose to be poor how can they waste money with buying tickets on the lottery." It's his hope that this will curve the misuse of state funds. So even if they were to hit a million dollar jackpot, they'll only carry home $600 dollars from the pot. The rest of prize would be used to assist in providing educational needs, and school funding. The bill is awaiting approval to become a law. Seems like that bill might hold on to some notes in the "Hope Jackpot" of a potential rich... but a still poor millionaire.... NEWS UPDATE: RE: NOTES TO BE KEPT FYI: (As of April 22.2009, this bill failed to become law and is considered null and void.) Shoot! ....for hoops for HOPE!... A NEW COACH HAS HOPE 04.10.2009 Memphis, TN Calipari's gone; but hope's not lost. University of Memphis has hope in it's new coach. His own legacy will be making the grade. Memphis University has selected their new coach, it's Calipari's once assistant coach, Josh Pastneur. Pastneur is willing-- and is the new HOPE for U of M basketball team. Will he fill the shoes? There's a poster of him floating around with his picture and the word HOPE> Let's hope he does well! But what about the COOK?....... DOES THE COOK HAVE HOPE? 04.10.2009 Memphis, TN The Memphis Cook Convention Center is crying out for a vision of hope. City of Memphis officials are seeking hopeful ways to save the center from destruction! The Cook Convention Center is in need of a facelift, but face high hopes with limited funds available. Memphis Government is hoping they can find a way to give the COOK a new plate. Negoitations of hope continue to be reviewed. That's a lot on their plate! But look! ...up in the sky, it's a bird!....it's a plane!...no it's.... NOTES OF HOPE 04.10.2009 DOWNTOWN MEMPHIS A new mural of hope is being painted on the walls of a downtown builidng owned by Chicks Pill . Chicks is having his building painted into a huge mural. The owner is paying for the painted mural with the wonderful works of art from The Rhodes University Arts Coda program and Rhodes student artists. Head Master Artist, Mr. Zimmerman is painting with hope with his paint brushes. The artist and students say the mural is a representation of Memphis People and not a racial issue of black and white. You can see hands, a piece of cake, a skull with cross bones, and a little black boy with outstretched hands! More hope comes as the mural shapes into Notes of Hope which is the mural's title. It's fantastic to see...So if you live in Memphis drive on downtown and have a look. Let's hope you can tell what's next as the mural becomes a hope of all the things, and scenes representing Memphis folk. It's hopeful that the mural will be finished in a few more weeks. There's a little lesser Note of Hope in the next story....that's because A LITTLE GANG'S HOPE FLOATS AWAY FROM MEXICO TO MEMPHIS JAILS 04.10.2009 New Mexico to Memphis Police and federal agents recently has shut down a branch of The Memphis Mob. It took over an 8 year period, but The Memphis Mob has been busted. Gang members moved to Mexico 3 months ago in order to set up one large drug operation. 35 members have been arressted including 3 members accused of murdering Tavis Nunnely of Memphis in 2008. You Bad!, BAD!....BAD BOYS!....Sheriff John Brown has sunk yo' battleships! On that NOTE....I HOPE...You will be coming back to read with me quite soon. THIS HAS BEEN NOTES OF HOPE.
