I Can't Complain

Posted By: Tiffany Dansby on July 14, 2005 I wrote this poem about a friend who felt that being mistreated was not only acceptable, but a normal part of love. You make me cry, I laugh it off, You hurt me but it's not your fault, You call me mean things but what's in a name? I allow it to happen so I can't complain. You tell me your lies, I believe every word, when the truth comes from others I pretend I haven't heard, I try to be the girlfriend you want me to be, but I allow the abuse so there'll be no complaints from me. What about the time you cheated? I guess you forgot, it took a while for me to discover I had not, why am i with some one who always cheats and lies? Because I'm too happy to complain that's why. I'm happy to be misused, I'm happy to have a broken heart, I'm happy to be constantly and consistantly torn apart, I'm happy, believe me, there's no one else to blame, because I allow myself to be subjected to this and I surely can not complain!
