Life Lesson from Michelle Obama

Life Lesson from Michelle Obama
Posted By: busta bitch on April 15, 2009

This morning I was engaged in a conversation with some colleges about Michelle Obama. It is so amazing how people can look at the same information and have such a divergence of views. The counselor in me, tells me that the comments made by these women about Mrs. Obama had less to do with what they felt about her and more to do with how they saw themselves. But I digress.

While, I do not personally know Mrs Obama, she is a friend in my head, that I hold much respect and admiration. She has just help to affirm and confirm some thoughts I had about myself. So here are some life lessons from Michelle Obama:

1.Be unapologetically you. In the street vernacular, DO YOU. Michelle is her own women with her own ideals and strong sense of esteem. She knows who she is and does not give a hoot what anyone says or thinks about her. She IS MICHELLE, whether it is protocol or not. She is herself and you can see is comfortable being her.

2. Work Hard.

She speaks of her humble beginnings and how she pursued education and hard work and dedication to become the women she is today. Never take the easy way out, if you work hard and do the right thing, even if it does not look like it, in the end you will succeed.

3. You can have it all!. She has a husband who loves her, two beautiful children, her career, her own accomplishments and she does it all while looking good. You can have it all, if you have a good support system and make the right things your priorities.

4.Chose a winner! Ladies it is so important that you do not allow disruptive people in your life. Who you in allow in your life and into your inner circle can propel or detract from your life. I do not know if Michelle knew Barak would be the President of the United States when she met him, but I am sure she knew that he was a driven young man who had potential and was going somewhere. This is not only about the people that you date, but the friends you let into your life. Always choose a winner. Eagles only soar with other eagles.
