The State of South Carolina and Education
|
Posted By: Levi Johnson on April 15, 2009 As we speak I am sitting and observing a second grade class in Irmo ,SC and I wonder what their future will be like.Where are they going? Are they learning? My answer to this is yes...I believe they are learning and will succeed if they display the potential that is inside all of them as they matriculate. The problem with South Carolina Education is not the children, but the adults that have been entrusted to make sure that each and every child is put in a position to succeed.Starting at the top, our Governor, Mark Sanford , is placing undue strain on each school district in the state, moreso rural based school districts within the geography of the now "infamous" corridor of shame so well publicized by CNN and the Obama administration. The funding that is out there(an estimated 1.8 BILLION!!!) that our fearless leader(WHAT A JOKE!) is trying to spare us from paying back in the future is nothing more than a power play to gain political power on the backs of the working poor and comfortable to set up a possible run at the presidency in 2012. We are being whored out to the media as the "poor people in SC that is being hamstrung into spending on debt." Reality Check Mark and others with political power stringing along the people of South Carolina: " Give us Our Money , so we can go about the business of stimulating our economy, education , and above all our children throughout this state. I take issue with Mr. Easterling's " s*xual predators" line. There are some twisted people in the world ....that are quickly found out if they are hired and resort in foul measures with our school children. My district is going down due to poor funding and parental support and even unpassionate faculty and staff. When you say administrators "I " work for hire s*xual predators you are talking reckless and without iron clad information of that. People like you bastardize the innocence of public education and make it harder for people that do care and do thier jobs with discipline and passion to want to even fool with some one else's children. That is an accusation you may want to watch how you bring up in public around REAL public educators. I have no idea who you banter with or align yourself with , but they are helping you shape a truly distorted view of what education is in SC. We are running from our past while accepting the present making inroads toward our future as a state on the rise in education. I do believe , I do not need to know....it is called FAITH
