My Take on Michelle Obama

Posted By: Levi Johnson on May 06, 2009 Where do I start when I speak on Michelle Robinson Obama? Do I start with the mother aspect or the fitness one? Do I speak on her abilities as a professional woman or as a doting mother of two? Maybe I will start with those shoulders or maybe the roundest derriere' ever in The White House among first ladies( You got a good one Barack!!!!)? I will not delve into such miniscule topics with a woman of such grace and presence.My first lady is NO video vixen. My first lady is a stateswoman, a lawyer, a nurturer, a wife , a graduate , a black woman, and above all a caring person.Descendant of slaves here in my home state of South Carolina, Michelle Obama truly is the muse for President Obama and the way he attacks life and its many challenges superceded only by the office which he now holds. She is breaking the stereotype long suffered by black women that they are about nothing and not capable of anything accept getting pregnant and landing a spot in 50 Cent's new video. I have known that black women are depicted the wrong way since I got out of high school knowing that what is seen on TV are not , I REPEAT , are not like the women I have known in college for the most part. Our women needed this validation to be seen in a different light than they have been seen in in recent years, or what I like to call " THE BOOTY BUTT CHEEKS ERA. " The country for the most part drunk the " koolaid" and almos died of acute American black woman explotation. Michelle is on a friendly accord with the Queen of England for cryin out loud. She has sent to the world more goodwill in two months than most first ladies' show in their husbands' first two years in office. She is a shining example that with hard work you can escape your suroundings and be bigger than the walls that closed you in. Southside of Chicago from what I hear is no cake walk. Which makes her story even more unbelieveable , especially when she wakes up in the master bedroom of the White House. Sisters love to toil around in the yard so I thought it was real cool when she broke ground on the victory garden. THank God .....The Vixen era is coming to a close.....Black women please represent yourselves well and continue to give men with far off dreams like Barack a chance to reengineer the Black family for the 21st century and beyond.
