NEW TORTURE PHOTOS LEAK: ARE THEY THE ONES OBAMA TRIED TO BLOCK? (WARNING: IMAGES ARE VERY GRAPHIC)

It is believed that the pictures being held back by the Obama administration may include some of these shots that most of the US press ignored, although RAW STORY ran them in 2006. After the posting of the photos, the ACLU released the following statement exclusive to RAW STORY. “We continue to see undeniable evidence that abuse and torture has been widespread and systematic, yet high level government officials have not been held accountable for creating the policies that led to these atrocities,” said Anthony D. Romero, Executive Director of the ACLU. “We need to look up the chain of military command, because when the rule of law is not followed all of our personal freedoms are threatened. President Bush should appoint an independent counsel to uncover the full truth about the extent of the abuse and who is ultimately responsible.” An article in the Guardian said, at the time, that “there were reports today that the US government was trying to prevent the new images being broadcast in the US.” Earlier today, The Daily Mail ran a story about the 2006 photos which incorrectly claimed that they were first broadcast last night. Before the article was edited, today’s Daily Mail included the photo of the man hanging naked upside down seen below, and which, at this moment, is displayed at the Drudge Report under the headline “OZ TV AIRS NEW TORTURE PHOTOS.” Today’s Telegraph incorrectly reports, “The images emerged from Australia yesterday where they were originally obtained by the channel SBS in 2006 in the wake of the Abu Ghraib scandal. They were not distributed around the world at the time but are now believed to be among those the president is trying to block.” It’s unknown if any American television network has posted any of these photos in the last three years. In the name of all that is holy, honest or just related to plain old every day common sense...HOW LONG HAS MR . QBAMA BEEN PRESIDENT OF THIS COUNTRY? Clark, thanks for bringing up what the court did in 2008, because the Republicans may be still in shock or trying to hide from the main stream media's education system how embarrassed they were getting this decission from their Republiican supureme courtat that time.I admit I was suprised at that one myself. Clark what would happen in this country? Say would we come down hard on our government or try to pump up the us vs them prejudices that neve fail to work? Please never forget we sided with the government against the Black Panthers when they tried to stop these beatings by the police on our young males. They even tried to get the attention of the legal system to help. They never got any attention or media coverage about their efforts until Hoover decalred them public enemy #1 and we fell for it hook line and sinker to this day!!!!! How many of US are trying to back our president as he trys to show that he is not going to try to run as a dictator as Bush did?Already we are faulting Mr. Obama for what could happen if these pictures are released. What did he do but try to get us not to go to war with people who had done us any harm!!! My fear is that we will continue down this road of divide and conqure as we as a people are still looked on as violent. Sorry, but I can not get the words to stop coming back that our president is going to back the terrorist because he was not born in America and he is a MUSLIM.And when we do this then may the God that each of us worship be with us , because the "Thou shall not Kill and love one another will be none existance...It will be replaced by the they are terrorist...Me, I have no reason to fear a terrorist(if not a prt of the KKK family) as their fight is not with me or with this president it is with those who have and will still carry on the ideals of the Bush mentailty...sorry, but I must say in the name of God because this is a Christian country and he is on our side. so Blacks and Wites join together to protect our country from this COMMON ENEMY of mankind.
