SUNO places 15th in the nation at NAIA outdoor championships

Posted By: Eddie Francis on May 26, 2009 FEATURED Content NEW ORLEANS, LA – Southern University at New Orleans has made fifteen its magic number, placing 15th in the nation at the 58th Annual Men's and 29th Annual Women's NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in Edwardsville, Illinois over the weekend. The team was able to place itself in the top fifteen by placing in the top ten in five events. The team also placed 15th in the nation at the NAIA indoor championships in March. Norbert Miller came in 3rd place in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 51.97 seconds. In the 400 meter dash, Adrian Simpson placed 3rd place with a time of 47.49. Sprinter Hylton Campbell placed 7th in the nation in the 100 meter dash. Campbell finished with a time of 10.79 seconds. In relays, the 4 x 400 meter team of Lerone Lawson, Simpson, Campbell and Miller placed 3rd, running a time of 3:09.98 while the 4 x 100 meter team placed 10th, finishing with a time of 41.40.
