Posted By: MIISRAEL Bride on May 27, 2009 HOMETOWN MEMPHIS: MAY 27, 2009 A BUDGET REALLY CUTS! Everywhere I'm looking I'm seeing that Scissors man! A BUDGET REALLY CUTS!... Read these three stories how he's cutting AND ACTION! PHIL'S READY TO CUT THE STATE! May 27, 2009 Nashville, TN Tennessee Govenor, Phil Bredesen has proposed a $241 million-dollor cut for state employees. That means about 700 current employees of the state would lose their jobs with an additional 700 vacant positions would also be eliminated. The lay off of employees would include a severance package and two years with tution cost extending their health insurance coverage. With the current state employees salary being approimately $41,000 annually the benefits of the lay-offs would save the state about 30 million dollars. State finance commissoner, Dave Goetz told lawmakers that layoffs will need to be completed by June 2010. Governor Bredensen was met with some opposition of his proposal most stating that revenue wasn't the main factor but that it "wasteful, stupid, irresponsible spending" as quoted by Drew Johnson, with the Tennessee Center of Policy Research. This budget will really have some sharp cuts..WHACKing all those families from state jobs....That's a sharpie! MIISRAEL, tell us, who really is this " Scissors man?" Why DON'T you know...He's the one's that's been cutting up stuff! Now look at this next story it's more budget cuts... The story call... LET'S DON'T SHOOT THE SHERIFF-- WE CAN DO BUDGET CUTS! May 27, 2009 Memphis, TN The Shelby county Commission is recommending cutting the budget with lay-off of 100 jobs in public saftey. Crime is a big problem in Shelby County and the Shelby County Sheriif, Mark Luttrell is really puzzled on what the public safety department is facing are cuts that may lead to increasing crime rates. The county is strapped!... with losing more protection for citizens of Shelby County from improved law enforcement. Commisioners say they have get the money from somewhere! Presently, the revenue isn't covering the stream! The county is facing a 1.7 billion dollar debt. Plea bargaining is going up next meeting! The cuts are not finalized yet but commissioners are seeking to recommend cuts within the safety department before any other budget cuts will be considered. More...cuts and more slashing somewhere will have to come. "The Scissors Man will be ON HAND sharpening anybody's cutters." So, It's true when sharp blades are left in water they rust...So maybe this next budget story cut will rust in the water... We're curious MIISRAEL....Go ahead tell us some more.... Okay...It's JAWS!... Read about the Mayor starring in... ..THE MAYOR'S CUTTING A BIG DIVE! May 27, 2009 Memphis, TN A number of Memphians are expressing a cut of disappointment to hear that the Mayor, W.B. Herenton may be closing the pools for good! At least for the summer anyway! The Memphis City Council have been cutting at the Mayor to come up with cutting $50 million dollars from his proposed budget cuts. A budget in which the Mayor left out $57 million dollars needed to help fund Memphis City Schools. So the Mayor went from the schools to the pools. Swimming pools are opened every summer to local students to take a "cool splash" but now they may have to go elsewhere to find a swimmer's lane. If the coucil votes on the Mayors idea closing the community center's pools this would cut into closing its gates! The report the Mayor presented states that closing pools would save the city more than $330,00 dollars However, closing not only pools, Memphis Park Services Division could suffer with cuts up to $4 million dollars. Golf courses could become parks and the control of community centers face outsources! The finale... Decisions rests on the City Council. Memphis children are in a frenzy! This is some of their summertime fun waving goodbye. They are hopeful to keep coming to their daily swims. Other children say they have no other outlooks and it'll be tougher to stay out of trouble and away from gangs and mischievous activities with the pool closings. What will they do you next ask? Well, I haven't a pool's clue! Guess I better take a Big Dive in the water while there's a pool still opened. Do you think the Mayor's pool is opened? Hey! I'm not going there! I can't SWIM! Do you remember this line...."You cut me deep SHREK!...You cut me deep!" One more thing...It's time for me to really cut out my plans and budget! Looks like a summer of long unemployment lines, and maybe a summer of more crimes! Oh my! Like my Daddy used to say..."Brang me a big glass of cold water." WHACK! WHACK! AND THAT'S RAP! .....AND CUT!
