Posted By: MIISRAEL Bride on May 30, 2009 THE COLLEGE ARENA! HIGHLIGHTING BLACK STUDENT ATHLETES May 30, 2009 MEET FIVE NEW RECRUITS: LADY TIGERS FOR TSU! Texas Southern University Women's Basketball team has new recruits for their next season. Five new recruits have been selected to lead the Lady Tigers to a victory run. Head coach, Yolanda Wells-Broughton has finished her first season at TSU with earning a trip to the SWAC Championship Tournament. Winning more games this season since 2003. Looking to do even better, the new recruits of 2009 are ranked second among the nation's HBCU and in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). With taller, more versatile and experienced recruits, the TSU Tigers will be roaring in for a more promising winning season to come! HERE'S THE LIST OF THE FIVE NEW TSU LADY TIGERS RECRUITS: Nadosha Strickland- Two-Guard averages 28 points per came from Meridian Junior College. Nadosha was also recruited by TCU and Georgia. Nicole Walton--Point Guard from Tulsa, OK comes from McLennan Junior College. Nicole was pre-season All American in junior college. Gabrille Rosiji-- Center from Tulsa, OK comes from Conners State Junior College and lead her team to the Junior College National Tournment. Rosijji is a dominate force under the basket. Sierra Highgate--Point Guard from Windsor, CA comes from Pensacola Junior College and earned reputation as a great shooter. Jasmine Payne--Forward from Bay Springs, comes from Pensacola Junior College. Jasmine is strong and a team player. FORMER LINEMAN INDCUTED INTO THE FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME South Bend, IN Roger Brown, University of Maryland Eastern Shore and Hall of Famer will also be inducted into The National Football Foundation's College Football Hall of Fame. Brown has an enriching career in football as leading the Hawks to the CIAA title in 1957 and twice named NAIA All American in 1958 and 1959. His football career includes a two-time Pittsburg Courier Negro All American slection. His background is famed with outscored backgrounds of accredited team player's successes. The National College Football Hall of Fame will host the award ceremonies July 17-21, 2009. Festivities include a concert with fireworks on Friday, July 17th. The Grand Parade and with festival and pep rally on Saturday, July 18, 2009. The conclusion is a Dinner show hosted by by ESPN's Rece Davis and Mark May.
