Posted By: Siebra Muhammad on June 01, 2009 This is a reply to an article emailed to me on our sister site, BlackWomenConnect.com, while I would not waste my time posting the full article (which is about 10 pages long), however, I have chosen to post my reply in a blog because of the subject matter. Siebra Muhammad wrote (Mon Jun 1st, 2009 at 7:24AM): The article above shows how stupidity can be sustained if there are people in the back ground to protect with the amassed resources available. Here in Louisiana, an armed 14 year old black kid was shot attempting to rob a drug store. He was encouraged to engage in a dangerous activity. The family did not teach him otherwise. The NCAA has filed a complaint that the person that shot him did so with malice. The apparent 'killer' will go to trial for his actions. The 14 year old died. The person that shot and killed the "robber" might face criminal charges. I do not think he will not go to prison for any significant time. What sound lessons was the parent teaching the son? This might be an object lesson of how the white population can get away with all types of evil things and not suffer for their actions if the 'victim is of the black race.' Half of us, just do things without thinking. Half of us do not have that luxury. Half of us cannot write, Half of us cannot read, Half of us want to be successful crooks. Half of us do not pay attention to what is happening in this country. Half of us are allowing these other people to eradicate us because half of us want to break the laws we did not write. When you do that you go to jail and/or die. There are lessons to be learned but half of us, instead, choose to engage in stupid, thoughtless activites. Half of us have not learned from those that preceded us when they attempted to teach us to be thinkers and scholars. Half of us choose to be stupid, Half of us chose to not learn to read and write, Half of us chose to not be scholars, teachers, leaders, Half of us chose to not improve ourselves. Half of us never thought that we are not in the proper pecking order to achieve those things that would make us 'better' people, Half of us did not learn to make sure our children learned all the rules and how they worked, Half of us did not think that we would have to do those things that would ensure we would thrive and prosper. Half of us are, more than any other racial group, dying, going to prison, living off welfare for several generations, Half of us steal, rob, shoot each other over drugs and guns, Half of us reject education as though it was a malignant disease, Half of us dress in outfits that are produced by the same people that enslaved us, Half of us deface our beautiful skin, Half of us replace beautiful oral ivory with corrosive metals. And for what? The GOP/Republicans are an evil group of people that can do some of the most horrendous things to the lesser of us. We do not have these 'backers' and half of us have not learned the rules. If this stupidity continues, we will cease to exist as a race of people. The same things are happening in Africa as well. Half of us do not have these resources available to us. Since half of us do not have these resources, half of us will continue to do those things that will place us in situations that are not progressive for living a long time. This story smacks of stupidity but it is allowed because we are not able to comprehend the consequences of how this can affect us. Half of us cannot 'see' how we are not viewed as a viable people. Half of us go to jail, Half of us die violently, Half of us use dangerous drugs but half of us do not learn to engage in activities that will benefit all of us. CAUTION!!! We had better learn to do those things that will enrich several generations of us. If we do not, we will go the way of the DoDo bird. I don't have a solution at all right now. But I can say that I agree with you. WE are essentially our own worst enemies. I start in my home and trickle out from there.
