RETURN TO REWARDS OF FASTING
|
Posted By: MIISRAEL Bride on July 19, 2009 Blessings to you! This thought occurred to me as I was reading in the Word today. I often times hear confessions of many people are praying and also worshipping and praising the Lord God of Heaven, but I have found few who are practing fasting. Not because I need to know of their fasting, but that it is encouraged among brothers and sisters of Christ. I am not trying to know of your personal practices of fasting. This is not the intent of the blog. I am however, encouraging the practice of fasts. I am Christian and I do practice in fasting. I am giving empowerment to return fasting in your service to the Lord. It is not always necessary for you to fast for rewards of yourself, fasting can be an offering of cleansing and renewal of your faith. Fasting can clear your thoughts and strenghten you body, mind, heart, soul and spirit. Fasting can improve your relationship with God. Read of this verse on fasting: When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show men they are fasting. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so it will be not obvious to men you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. Matthew 6:16-18 I am hoping you are among those who still fast, and that you will consider the ways written in the Word on how to fast. You do not have tell others of your fasting, but only God will know what you are doing. Once more encouraging you to if you have left fasting to return to fasting and in prayers. Blessing to you, MIISRAEL Fasting is taught to be a secret and sacred offering to the Lord. When one is fasting it is best not to announce you are fasting. Many of us make the mistake by telling others that offer us food during our fasting openly they are doing so. Since I am one who fasts I do not tell of it when I am fasting.
