It Just Aint' Right!!!

It Just Aint
Posted By: Tony June on July 25, 2005

I'm tired of hearing about the non-exsistant good BLACK man! I tired of hearing that all the black men are either in gay, in jail, or not worth a dime. Yes, some men are highly influenced music videos, and what they see on T.V, but what about the guys that aren't? What about the men that are not sexin' every girl they come in contact with? Recently, a girl told me that I would never be able to get close to her because I'm a black man, and black men are all the same. Now that just ain't right!!! How can a man show a woman that he wants to be true to her? How long will it take for her to believe him? Help a brutha' out!

I feel you 200%. I hate it when our men, and our women for that matter is placed in a category all on there on. That is so not fair. Fortunately, not all women stereotype. Many of us have been hurt, and fortunately again, we won't blame that hurt on everyone else. (not all women do that). I just encourage you to continue to be the man that you are and just because some females choose to be act juvenile, don't lose your sincerity. And another thing, if they won't date you, its definately not meant to be. I'm sure the woman that is for you, is better than any woman you could have thought of for yourself. Of the subject, i see you're doing it big in louisiana also.

I know where your coming from. I mean then you got the guys that say all black girls got attitudes when thats not true. I am the most nicest girl a guy to meet but like the saying goes everyone has their perferences. A woman knows when a guy is being true to her or not, its their decision on whether or not they are going to believe their being true. I do agree with you though cause not all women are the same and not all men are the same. We were made all originally and even if some of us have the same qualities that still doesn't make us all the same. I feel you on that though.

My brotha...I'm going through the same thing. I feel you on this. Just be yourself man. Don't worry about her thinking you are like other Black men. Tell her you are different and would like to prove it to her. Good luck to ya man...

Couldn't been said better. I also deal with issue alot back at state. But I know god has someone great planned for me. I try not to let it bother me anymore. But I can't help it when I see a male or female in a dumb relationship. All I can do is sit back and observe. LoL...Maybe it will be different this semester. Why is it so hard for us good guys? A dude with 0% respect for a female will end up getting one before we even get a mention. It's a screwed up world we live in.

just adding on to what others were saying, part of the problem too is not that good black been don't exist, it's that women don't really know what they want. we say we want one thing, but when we get it, we don't know what to do!! i know i've passed up MANY good guys because they were "too sweet" or "too nice", and in hindsight, that was the dumbest thing i could do. i am noticing though that as i mature and i begin to realize what really matters, i am starting to truly appreciate and value the good black men in my life. i think it's just something that comes with age and experience. just keep doing what you do and when the right girl comes along, she'll appreciate you and all you have to offer. :-)

Sit tight, Baby Boy! You are a good black man and don't let any woman or girl tell you any different. Sometimes it takes maturity to realize this. Good black women go through the same thing when they see all the girls who are the "not quite as nice" get snatched up before them, time and time again. You will find a good black woman out there searching for a good black man. I got me one of those good black men and I'll stand up and strike a match on that. I also have 3 good black men (my sons) whom I have instilled God into their lives and pray every day that with God and the influence and example of their father they will remain good respectful black men.

I'm tryin' to figure out where you heard this. That used to be the deal. But Black men have been havin' it good for a minute now. I mean everybody wants one. It's the Black women who still have to put up with the "last-in-line, neck-rolling, weave-wearing, loud-and-bad" stereotype."

I dont know why "we" stereotype each other....The way I feel is I know that I cant say anything about anyone or anyobody b/c I havent lived long enough to say what someone should or shouldnt do....I havent been in that person's shoes to say why they do the things that they do....All I know is what I have done and I can talk about MYSELF and that's it....I love meeting people and seeing how they think and how operate day in and day out....I am a FIRM believer that ALL BLACK MEN ARENT THE SAME....I commend all my black brothers and black sisters 110% and then some....People dont realize that it's already HARD being a minority and with the extra baggage (stereotypes) placed on us it makes it even harder to go through our day....For the brothers and sisters that are excelling CONGRATULATIONS on what you do....I know that the negatives stereotypical sayings is just fuel for our gas tanks b/c in the years to come the same people who looked down on us will be looking up for us for some attention......
