Planting the Seeds for Peace

Planting the Seeds for Peace
Posted By: Barbara Dixon on August 06, 2009

What part can you play in the process for peace, right here and right now? How can we as students of Truth be a catalyst for peace? What areas of your life are yearning for peace?

These are tough questions but they beg to be asked. Change is an inside job. Only you can root out the prejudices, hate, unforgiveness, or resentment within you. These are the weeds in your mental, emotional, and spiritual garden. Every gardener knows that if you plant seeds without removing the weeds and tilling the soil, your plants will not be healthy and strong. This is not a one-time job; you have to constantly pull up the weeds. Seeds of love cannot grow strong among the weeds of hate, resentment, fear, or any other negative emotion. Let us not be naïve, every ugly part of ourselves that we are unwilling to examine keeps everyone away from the full realization of Love and Peace.

I cannot remember going to a New Thought church without singing the Peace Song and hearing the words, "Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me." Peace must begin with you. Are you ready to love and not hate? To be a giver and not just a taker? To appreciate others, not simply tolerate their differences? To let go of being right? Am I? None of us can wait for someone else to make peace for us.

We cannot continue to do things the same way and expect different results.

So roll up your sleeves and begin the sometimes painful, sometimes embarrassing, but always rewarding process of re-creating yourself. Rise higher, past the limits of race, religion, and misguided loyalties. Creation is often a messy process. You have to dig up the ground to make a flower garden, but we can create a world of peace. “The Voice for God is always quiet, because it speaks for peace. Peace is stronger than war because it heals. War is division, not increase. No one can gain from strife. What profiteth a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?” (A Course in Miracles)

Join Mindful Resolutions and NUMN Publications as we embark upon a truly remarkable mission; to raise consciousness and transform the world. How are we going to do it? We can only do it with your help. We are having the biggest, most encompassing, loudest, funest (Is that a word?), spiritual event of all time, the Claim the Impossible Cyber Street Fair. Just like any street fair, you can go from booth to booth and enjoy, music, art, book signings, and an incredible group of teachers, coaches, business people, global warming experts, health professionals etc. along with professional athletes and other celebrities; all there to help you to further your vision and purpose! It is unfortunate people do not have hope there will ever be "PEACE"; however it is up to each of us as human being to think positive in order to see positive things occur for a better tomorrow. Yes, it is true as you read in the bible there is history of war and destruction, but in the middle of chaos some people kept hope and believe for a brighter future. We must think like those during that time.

I doubt if we will ever be able to get beyond the mine is the right, correct religion and yours is the wrong one therefore there will never be "PEACE" on this earth as 'we' speak of...

There can only be peace when we ALL can be able to treat each other as Equals, "I" believe.(smile)
