Good news 4 Grambling Students!

Posted By: Tiffany Wells on July 27, 2005 I dont know if many people knew about this but just this past year, Grambling was in the process of losing its famous oval "G" logo (like the one shown 4 my pic!) What happen was that the "G" logo that Grambling has been using for athletics almost 31 years was never owned by Grambling. The skool didnt even apply for a trademark on the oval "G" until Jan. 14,1997 and was turned down in February 1998. If no one noticed that the Green Bay Packers use the same oval "G" since 1961 and granted limited permission to use a similar mark to the University of Georiga and Grambling. Because they lost the logo, Grambling was in the process of making a new logo with a Tiger coming out the "G". Anyway to make a long story short, as of July 22, 2005 Grambling is able to keep the oval "G" as the official skool logo.Here are some websites where u can get da whole story on the loss and gain of Gramblings logo.
