VSU'S NGAUJA NAMED CIAA DEFENSIVE BACK OF THE WEEK

Virginia State University's Alfred Ngauja has been named the CIAA Defensive Back of the Week, the CIAA announced on Monday, September 28.

Ngauja, a sophomore from Alexandria, Va., returned a fumble for a CIAA-record 95-yard touchdown, and intercepted a pass in the end-zone as time expired to preserve a 25-20 VSU upset over Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, N.C. Ngauja also returned the game's opening kickoff 81 yards before being tackled just short of the end zone.

Ngauja is a product of Bladensburg High School in Alexandria.
