This magazine, just like Essence and BET, will fall into the hands of a white investment group who will continue to tell us what to think through our media. That is why I am so dedicated to the development and growth of HBCU Bookies. Ms. Coleman, I would love to join forces and effort to let Our People Know – We must read or lose our Black voices and our Black Authors? I am near you - in Laurel, MD...... what do you say? Myth Ebony Magazine is Up for Sale! (17 hits) Ebony Magazine is Up for Sale Johnson publishing has had a rough time with keeping their publications a float during the recession and now it seems their most prized possession Ebony Magazine is seeking investors to keep the mag from shutting down. We hope we can hold on to Ebony because too many African-American magazines have already bitten the dust. Mythical, I feel your pain and share your passion about reading. I love to read and I believe many in your audience feel the same. However, things like the internet and other electronic devices and hectic schedules have become so time consuming that we just can't seem to find the time. I know that is a lame excuse. We really need to disciplne ourselves better. My favorite book to read is The Word of God, and believe me it pains me to say that I have neglected it since I started back to school. We need people like you to encourage us to get back to what is really important...reading. So don't give up, there is still hope for us. pray my sister! to be able to find much time to read.
