God vs. Society

Posted By: Apria DeLaney on October 02, 2009 I am active in a ministry at my church and I am studying women in the Bible. Last week I was studying, Eve and I've come to realize that God has His Standards for Us to meet. But it seems like Society has its own standards for us as well. God created man-male and female- in His own image. (How we ALREADY ARE) natural hair texture, eye color, facial stucture, height, weight, and personality. How come we are not proud of how God made us? Society wants everyone to be thin, have a certain eye color, hair texture, weight, height, and image. Why are people molding themselves to fit Society standards to be accepted or be considered pretty, handsome, or attractive? When GOD created us -male and female- in HIS OWN IMAGE! So I oppose these questions: *Do you meet God's Standards?* -No tattoos, piercings -Show your natural hair, nails, eye color -Love God and yourself -Love your weight, height, and size OR *Do you meet Society's Standards?* -Have tattoos, piercings -Get relaxers, perms, hair treatments to change your God given texture -Get false nails, eye colors, hair extentions -Have a low self-esteem -Hate your weight, height, and size -Has undergone plastic surgery to change what God has created (unless a serious medical condition has occured) Be honest with yourself and Be honest with God. You will be suprise at the end result. And trust I'm no angel, but honestly I meet Society standards and not God's. BUT THAT WILL CHANGE, TRUST ME.
