I’m Polling: Would You Join A Book Club That Parties Like A Rock Star!
|
Posted By: Mythical Bliss on October 03, 2009 WARNING: HBCU BOOKIES Book Club is for Adults ONLY!!!!!! I was wondering, is there anybody out there like me – loves to read, socialize and fantasize all in one? For some reason, I can’t get into being a member of a book club that wants to meet once a month and sit around somebody’s living room and ‘casually’ comment on what they read for the Book Of The Month! THAT JUST BORES ME. Anything that I read has to jump out and grab me while sayin’ a Mouth Full. Then, I wanna socialize with a whole lot of people so I can talk about it, BUT, I got to have fun with literature that’s a little on the undomesticated side – you know, with class. How did I get like this – turning reading into a celebration? Well, a friend of mine is a Passion Party consultant and she kept trying to get me to have a party for her. I agreed to host just once as long as I could do it Myth style - meaning: 1. We meet in a reserved legroom 2. Food & Drink On Me 3. A group of my ‘best’ girl friends bring a lot of passion to the conversation ‘cause we actually read the book 4. At this discussion I gave my girl a chance to do her spill on the whole Passion Party Concept, and I topped it off with a D.J. and (exotic) dancer or two for our After Party. After that, my book club was formed (sans the passion party - that was a one time thing). My question is this, Would you want to be part of a Book Club Like No Other? Give me your reason why you would join and I’ll give you the opportunity to: 1. Attend our next private gathering in Washington, D.C. for Halloween 2. Become a member of our private Social Club where everything is on the up and up – we just have a way of reading to make it life 3. If you're not in the Washington, D.C. metro area - you can open a Chapter in your home state 4. Take a vote on whether this group should be Ladies Only or if we should Allow Men Men you can weigh in on the voting.
