Cheyney University Announces 2009 Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees

Posted By: Jehan Bunch on October 04, 2009 FEATURED Content The 31st class of the Cheyney University Athletic Hall of Fame will be inducted at on an campus ceremony on Friday, October 9, 2009 in the Ada Georges Dining Hall. The evening is open to the public and tickets are available for $ 35.00. Tickets can be purchased in advance by sending a check or money order payable to CUNAA (Cheyney University National Alumni Association) Memo: Athletic Hall of Fame to P.O. Box 189, Cheyney, PA 19319. Questions can be directed to 610-872-2322 or 610-566-4206. The Class of 2009 includes Ronald Barnett, Billy J. Erwin, Richard F. Fleming, Donald E. Hackney, Barbara Howard-Chestnut, Roy Sims, Keith Wall and Harold Watts. A special award is also being presented to those that have actively supported Cheyney University and the community through the years. Members of last year’s class are expected to be present for the Class of 2008 portrait unveiling. The evening begins at 5:00 p.m. with light refreshments and the opportunity to meet the Class of 2009. The formal program will commence at 7:00 p.m. with a delicious dinner. Founded in 1979, the Athletic Hall of Fame serves to preserve and promote the history of the Cheyney University athletic teams and its athletes who performed and achieved at an outstanding level.
