Posted By: Ivan Butcher II on October 22, 2009 Medical uses of hydrogen peroxide Clear Up Skin Acne Use a clean cotton ball to generously dab straight hydrogen peroxide onto skin acne two or three time a day. The peroxide will dry the problem up in no time at all! Kill Fingernail and Toenail Fungus Soak your fingernails or toenails in a 50/50 solution of hydrogen peroxide every day and it will kill harmful fungus. Make a Homemade Tooth Whitener Swish a teaspoon full of 3% strength hydrogen peroxide in your mouth for five to ten minutes every day. It will kill harmful germs and bacteria. It will also act as a homemade tooth whitener! It is again important to note that all of these procedures are done with only the 3% solution. Several very good medical uses are infections (usually in the skin and mouth), cold sores, mosquito and other insect bites, and pimples. For most of these minor problems, all one has to do is either pour a small amount from the cap, use a small tissue, or even just put on your finger and rub it on. Minor infections and cold sores disappear quickly. Putting some in the ears helps breakdown excess earwax and prevents or gets rid of ear infections. For colds, put a VERY small amount of hydrogen peroxide and fill the rest of the cap with water and while holding one nostril closed, breathe it into the other nostril. It will go down up the nose and down the back of your throat, blow your nose immediately. Do this once or twice a day as needed until the cold goes away. However, if it burns too much dilute it more or do a quick follow up with a capful of plain water (no hydrogen peroxide). One of the main uses of hydrogen peroxide (3% grade unless otherwise noted) is in maintaining your dentine hygiene. Toothbrushes can be soaked in hydrogen peroxide between uses to eliminate germs. Help Houseplants Grow Healthier Mix up an ounce of hydrogen peroxide into a cup of water and spray your houseplants with this solution. It will help your houseplants grow greener and more lush. Remove Harmful Pesticides From Fruits and Veggies Pour a fourth of a cup of hydrogen peroxide into a sink of cold tap water. Place your fruits and veggies in the solution and wash them off well. Then, rinse each piece off with tap water and dry. Use hydrogen peroxide to easily clean vegetables. Wash or even soak the vegetables in peroxide to disinfect and clean them easily making them safe to eat. Hydrogen peroxide has shown to reduce the chemicals on the vegetables and kill stubborn bacteria. Hydrogen Peroxide Uses Soak any infections or cuts in 3% peroxide for five to ten minutes several times a day. My husband has seen gangrene that would not heal with any medicine, but was healed by soaking in peroxide. Fill a spray bottle with a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water and keep it in every bathroom to disinfect without harming your septic system like bleach or most other disinfectants will. Tilt your head back and spray into nostrils with your 50/50 mixture whenever you have a cold, or plugged sinuses. It will bubble and help to kill the bacteria. Hold for a few minutes then blow your nose into a tissue. If you have a terrible toothache and cannot get to a dentist right away, put a capful of 3% peroxide into your mouth and hold it for ten minutes several times a day. The pain will lessen greatly.
