Posted By: Janie McGee on January 15, 2010 The Black Woman's Urban Field Guide to Prayer and The Black Man's Urban Field Guide to Prayer. Many years ago my husband and I purchased the "Prayers that Avails Much" books. We have always enjoyed reading Christian books that encouraged faith and prayer. At the time we were overseeing a Christian Arts Ministry. We saw mighty moves of God through prayer and fasting. We were going into prison, small churches, shelters, urban communities, and colleges. We desired to find material to hand out to people of color that reflected their issues. Many of the prayer books did not address some of the problems we saw weekly in the streets and cities we visited. After many years of seeking God we self published two prayer books to address the spiritual battles faced by those in hurting communities. Prayer can change things!! The Black Woman Field Guide and the Black Man Field Guide to prayer were written to inspire prayer. The use of the term field guide is uses to express the hunt for victory in our communities through prayer. There are prayers for : Crack houses, deliverance, love ones in prison, demonic houses, racism, mission, and more.
