THE MID-EASTERN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE IS ‘TURNING UP THE HEAT’ WITH AN EIGHT CITY TOUR KICKING OFF JANUARY 21, 2010

WHO:
This year, the Mid Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) is celebrating its 40th Anniversary. To kick-off this milestone, the MEAC is “TURNING UP THE HEAT” with a unique, high energy college tour, leading up to the 2010 MEAC Basketball Tournament. The MEAC “TURNING UP THE HEAT” tour will boast a bevy of interactive activities including a special “Hands On Banking” Wachovia seminar.

The MEAC, an NCAA Division I Conference, is comprised of 12 historically black institutions across the Atlantic coastline. The MEAC Basketball Tournament, taking place March 8-13th in Winston Salem, NC is a single elimination championship playoff. Both the men’s and women’s champion will receive an automatic bid to the 2010 NCAA Tournament.

WHAT:
The MEAC “TURNING UP THE HEAT” Tour will travel to eight campuses via a specially wrapped Hummer which will deliver a mobile MEAC experience village where students will be able to interact online, sample products and test their knowledge of MEAC trivia. On-site activities will bring BET’S “106 & Park” show to life complete with a DJ, dance and freestyle contests and promotional giveaways.



Additionally, an interactive lounge equipped with lap tops will be available for students who would like to enter the Boost Mobile ‘Win A Trip’ to the MEAC Sweepstake. The Grand prize includes an all expense paid trip to the 2010 MEAC Basketball Tournament where the winner will party with BET’S ‘106 & PARK’ hosts Terrence J and Rocsi. This exciting prize package also includes Complimentary Round Trip Accommodations for two (2), hotel, transportation, VIP Entrance to MEAC entertainment events, $100 spending cash and MEAC Tournament Passes.

Students and MEAC fans can enter the 2010 MEAC Sweepstakes at www.meachoops.com. The contest ends March 4, 2010.
