As a first impression, I wouldn' t ask a guy out first. It makes you look too...anxious or...forward. Isn't it all about a chase anyway? I mean if you liked a girl and she didn't call you, you'd want to know why and be intrigued by her. If she called you all the time, you'd be ready to throw her out the window.LOL . Nothing wrong with asking the lady out first, I think it's part of being a man. After you all get to know each other, you don't have to do everything. Then it's 50/50

First of all in most settings there are more men that women so look at it as you can pick. Second its the mans job to get up and do the work, a lady doesnt approach she is approched, (just joking) but really i dont think there is anything wrong with a female approaching a guy i just wont do it besides i think most females like being approached. Girls tell me if i am wrong

LoL your crazy, I think women are more traditional when it comes to approaching men, You know the whole guy makes first moves thing, i guess ya'll is get tired of putting in the work sometimes, I use to think guys liked doing it because it give them the an ego boost but i might be wrong anyway im a little self-conscience about pieces of body, and i tend to get fresh comments because them, thats not the first thing i want to hear after i gathered all my guts to talk to you. But thats just the guys that i've approached that said these things.
Im out

oh, and i agree with Victoria about girls seeming like they would be too anxious and also kind of desperate.

I dont exactly ask them out but i like to let them kno that i like them or sort of give them the ok to approach me on that level. But i would rather be approached by the mail, feel me, anyway imma holla at u

I agree with a lot of what Victoria said. Well, I really wouldn't approach a guy first. On the other hand, if that's what a woman wants to do, then that's up to her. Believe it or not, a lot of guys will be intimidated by a girl if she approaches them first. I've spoken with a few of my male friends about this matter in the past and many of them feel this way. However, some men might be thrilled if a woman were to make the first move, but they might be thrilled for the wrong reasons. What I mean is that they might take advantage of the woman because she is 'putting herself out there,' so they might want to use her interest to their benefit (if you know what I mean). I have some male friends that have done this. I feel that if a man is truly interested in me, then he should have no problem with making the first move....even if if takes a while for him to build up the courage to do so. If he never approaches me then he couldn't have been that interested in me from the beginning.

I agree with what Tawanna did. It's not about a female asking you out first, but about showing that mutual interest. Most of us dont want to approach u, especially if we think u r going to turn us down...BUT, if we've been eying each other I will be more apt to make the 1st move. I met the love of my life doing just that. We saw each other around campus and went to alot of the same places. Most of the time we were at the same table in the cafe. I made a comment about his appearance one day, and the next he had approached me because I made myself available. We dont mind throwing the signals, u as a guy should just let us know in a subtle way that u r looking because we dont want to appear fast instead of confident. Double standard, yes....but I mean hey!

i agree with a few people. i don't like asking, because like you said, everyone is afraid of getting rejected. i do throw hints when i like a guy though. if he advances a lil more we may talk. but when they advance and then back off, it's very confusing. basically, there's nothing wrong with a female making the first move, but i start conversation and then he can take over from there. good luck with friending that lady to ask you out. lol
