Prison or College: either way be Tough!

Prison or College: either way be Tough!
Posted By: Quiara Miller on March 03, 2010

I was speaking to a friend of mine, who's also a leader of the college life here @ the University of the District of Columbia 4.0 lounge, and he told me a story about how he explained college is just like being in Prison. He said that being in prison you have two choices: you can either go in and keep your self up by working out, get smarter, get more enlightened. He said that Malcome X went to prison and while he served his sentence he read the whole dictionary front to back to gain more knowlesge because while in prison it can either make you corrected or make you worse.

Then you could make the choice to(and these were his actual words) "tie your shirt up and become a fag, and not make your self". In other words not really becoming a fag but a person that just float in life with out gaining knowledge, or somebody with no determination or discipline to gain knowledge or to better themselves. Its the same concept here in college. You are given a certain amount of time to fullfill you destiny. So you can get this sentence of 4 years in college and become either a smarter enlightened individual or you can fail at everything you do by chasing girls, going to every frat and sorrority party and not studying. So which one are you? Malcome X or a FAG..you choose this sememster..
