Operation Homecoming- Tuskegee Fly In May 28-30, 2010

Location: Tuskegee, Alabama

Description: The Negro Airmen International (NAI), the nation’s oldest African-American pilot’s organization and direct descendent of the legendary Tuskegee Airmen, will hold its annual "Fly-In" May 28th thru May 30th 2010. The Fly-In is open to the public and features, historic aircraft, military fly-bys, aerobatics, exhibits, vendors, food and fun. Attendees will include everyone from Black Bikers, the Corvette Club, Black buisness persons, activists, and Tuskeee Alumni.

Theme: "Supporting Black Businesses in the Black belt"

The Negro Airmen International (NAI), the nation’s oldest African-American pilot’s organization and direct descendent of the legendary Tuskegee Airmen, will hold its annual "Fly-In" May 28th thru May 30th 2010, and its theme "Supporting Black Businesses in the Black belt". This year’s event will mark the forty-third year the group has gathered in celebration of the legacy of African American Aviators. Sam L. Jones, of Savannah, Georgia, and President of NAI, shared the significance of this year’s Fly-In. " Although, everyone is experiencing difficult economic conditions, this event which has gone on for forty-three years will continue. This year, as in previous years, Black pilots will fly in with their planes and engage the pubic, especially the young people.



The Biofuels Racing Alliance (BFRA) will be there along with the Atlanta Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce, Greater Columbus Minority Chamber of Commerce, the Corvette Club out of Atlanta, motorcycle groups, farmers, Black Pilots, and many other local partners. It is going to be fantastic event, and everyone is invited.

An economic summit will be a huge component of the Fly-In:

Friday’s Session will be entitled " The Black Belt Business Summit- The Economic Rebirth of the City of Tuskegee"

Summit duration: 12:00-5:00pm

Format

12:00-1:30pm Luncheon with Keynote Speaker (TBA) est. attendance 100-150

2:00-4:00pm Black Belt Business Panel (Facilitated by Michael T. Hill)

4:15pm-5:00pm Wrap Up Session
