So, I sort of have a dilemma.. I have a boyfriend at the moment that I have been with for almost 5 years now. The thing is I am going away to school and he is in jail at the moment. And he is asking me to be on my best behavior while I am away at school. And I don't know if I can do that... what should I do? Should stay with him and do what he ask or should we be "friends" and I do what I want at school. To be totally honest I was already feelin' someone at orientation. I mean, but I do love this man with all of my heart. We just have some trust issues...

trust me the best thing to do is break it off!!!...me and my dude had some serious trust issues before i went off to jail and we broke if off....if u even think that u cant stay faithfull to him while ur away at college then ur probably not gonna be faithful so to me the best bet is to break it off cuz if u dont and u do cheat that leads to lying if u dont wanna tell him and then u will get caught up in a web of lies...trust me i know!!!

I feel in my opinion you should break it off with him and just be friends, only because you will be miserable when you get to college and you wont be able to experience the college life the way you should. I mean even if you did stay with him your communication would be limited you wouldn't be able to act out your title(as his girl) because he wouldn't be there to act out his part. In my eyes it would just be a title of a relationship you would just have the title of being his girlfriend. I mean if he wasn't in jail that would be a different subject because he can still come and see you and all that good stuff but when your in jail your sort of limited to the things you want and can do. I feel friends would be the best out come i mean say if the guy you feeling now doesn't work out and you soon graduate and hes out of jail you will still have some connection with him to maybe pick up where you left off or restart what you have with no flaws because you been there and done that. I think friends would be the best outcome.

I agree with everyone else in saying that you should definately break it off with him now! I mean, you're already interested in someone else from your school's orientation, so that's a sign right there that you need to break it off soon. You're better off doing that now instead of starting college, possibly cheating on him and maybe lying to him or being deceitful in another way. To top it off, ya boy's in jail anyway so that makes it extra difficult for him to even visit you. Even if he wasn't in jail it might be difficult for him to come and visit you - you never know. Plus, long distance relationships are very, very hard. I've been there myself and it didn't work out! I mean, everyone's relationship is different, but most of the time the long distance thing doesn't work! I think you should just be friends with him. Or if you're both not ready to be friends at first, maybe acquaintances til' you can both deal with just being friends. You're better off ending things on a smooth note rather than a bad note later on down the line. Like I said before, you never know what might happen. You and him might be able to start anew later on and you might end up getting back together. Don't just stay in the relationship cause you feel obligated to do so. Save both yourself and him heartache and pain before it's too late.

hey.... I'm with everyone else. you might as well break up with him. I think that it would be for the best. Espeically if you already into somebody at the school. I kinda understand how you feel. I will be leaving for school next week in Florida and my boyfriend will be in Chicago.

ms.peierce..... now you know damn well that you need to break that off. for one if you dont think you will be able to be faithful then stop it. you dont want to break his heart. Secondly by him being in jail ummm... He cant do anything for you. So dont be confused. ... See you in a few days ... SAffiyah
