Over the weekend, President Obama and a host of others attended the White House correspondents dinner in Washington, DC. The event, held at the Washington Hilton Hotel, boasted the attendance of around 3,000 guests to include former Secretary of State Colin Powell, Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn, GOP Chairman Michael Steele, comedian Chevy Chase, actor Alec Baldwin, comedian Bill Maher, and teen heartthrob, pop star Justin Bieber (reportedly out of Ushers camp).

Although Jay Leno was the comedian of the night, it appears to have been the President garnering the most applause with many one liners pointed towards himself, his administration, the birthers, and of course the Republican party. Which led to the friendly jab the President lodged towards RNC leader Micahael Steele. It is about time. Michael Steele is looking at the RNC through rose colored glasses. It is okay that he wishes to be a Republican, but understand that each morning he awakes to look in the mirror a Black man looks back at him. America has many more years of growing up, and color is a primary factor. Michael Steele as President Obama pointed out "To learn face-to-face encounter." Steele is not looking at the past to ensure him a strong future.
