AOL Internships and Co-op Programs
|
Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on May 04, 2010 At AOL, students from colleges and universities around the globe have the opportunity to join us through our intern programs and apprenticeships. We count on their unique insight and perspective to help us look at the world differently. In return, we can reinforce their education by bringing real business application to the theories and concepts they learn in their classrooms. Our internships provide a great mix of work experience, professional development opportunities and social networking. Whether you’re creating compelling online content, creating marketing and public relations materials, or using technical skills to create widgets making our sites more interactive - your contributions matter. Networking is important. You’ll see interns participating in Kickball games on the Dulles campus, attending Major League Baseball games in Baltimore, and enjoying after-work socials in Hamburg. You need only read testimonials from our former interns to see the value of an internship at AOL to both you and to the company: “As a tech support intern I have aided in ensuring all employees have access to their necessary systems. I have worked regularly with European and Japanese employees.” – Nick, Baltimore, MD “Starting an apprenticeship is always exciting, but all the AOL employees were so nice right from the beginning, that they made the start pretty easy. Everyone took their time to explain me as much as possible, whenever I had any questions. At AOL you can learn so much, because they believe in you and give you important tasks, so you have three years of learning a lot and having fun.” – Anna, Germany “I have been working on the new website Love.com, and it's been a great experience to see what goes on at the management level for the launch of something like this. My manager and his associates have taught me more about business in the couple of weeks here than I learned at my previous internships and jobs combined.” – Ryan, New York Although the bulk of our internship openings in the US are posted in the spring for work the following summer, some teams look for students to work part-time or as co-op’s throughout the school year. Across the world, apprenticeships are also open year-round, depending on the country. If you don’t see an opening in your region now, keep checking back!
