Technology news: Facebook, MySpace caught!

Posted By: torin ellis on May 23, 2010 FEATURED Content Have you wondered why certain advertisements are appearing during your Facebook and MySpace experience - advertisements that appear to be made just for you? Perhaps not. Perhpas that hadn't happened to the degree that you have even paid attention. For the few that thought they may have noticed a trend, may be they were on to something. According to a Yahoo news article, the Friday May 21st report says that the companies have delivered user data to major online advertising companies such as Google's DoubleClick and Yahoo!'s Right Media, despite explicit pledges to protect such information. No big deal to most for the online experience must go on. For some - a large contingency - they too will go on, but they may do such without certain online identities. A recent poll disclosed that 60 percent of Facebook users have considered deleting their accounts because of qualms about the site's privacy policy.
