The Rattlers Want to Play for the FCS Championship, Not In The Legacy Bowl
|
Posted By: Russell Clark on June 05, 2010 Dr. James Ammons, president Florida A&M University, sent a letter to the FAMU Alumni Association expressing the university’s reservations with the MEAC’s proposal to forgoe the FCS playoffs in order to participate in the inaugural Legacy Bowl. The MEAC and SWAC have held discussions with the organization that manages the Chick-fil-A Bowl in Atlanta to create a post season black college finale. The concept is not new. Host Communications attempted to match the two conference champions for several year’s in the ’90s. The Legacy Bowl is currently scheduled for December 17, 2011. In addition to the Chick-fil-A Bowl, ESPN is reportedly involved as a broadcast partner.
