I am finally over the blues.

I went to a family reunion and found myself having such a terrible time there.

Posted By: Genette Brooks on July 29, 2010 I AM so glad to be home but I saw my step fathers families homes they were huge and so perfect I mean just like the ones yo see on TV. We have a nice little house, but now I have seen houses with marble and granite counter tops, sliding doors and light hardwood floors and huge kitchens. I wanted to move down south. For the Beauty of the country. However the cost of living is the same as up here I think or it may be a little lower. My relatives were telling me that they pay 600-1300 rent. How much does it cost to live down south. Here I saw a 1 bedroom for 600-800 dollars and a 3 bedroom for 500-1600. The pay hasn't went up but the cost of living has. The discrimination and segregation in the workforce hasn't ended either. I have been to several Temp agencies here. All staff members were white, except for one temporary agency that had a Puertorican girl there. However I have fond jobs through about 2-3 of them, many of them did'nt even call me back. 1 called me back to say that they were keeping my resume on file for a job that I am better qualified for. What job am I qualified for. I have a BS in Busiess Administration with a major in Human Resource Manageent. But just about every job I apply for says we will contact you if we find a job that better meets y our qualifications. I have experience as a recruiter for IT Personnel. I also have experience as a Human Resource Geeralist. I have experience rocessing EEO Complaints/EEO Assistant. I also have experience as a Secretary and Receptionist. I am able to fax, file copy, and type 52wpm. I am able to use a dictaphone and postage machine. I would like to work in a small office without a lot of people. LIke Allstate. or something, yet I cn't find a job. When I had a job all kinds of people were calling me to hire me now that I don't have one I can't find one. MY father and step father won't retire until 2 years from now. my father cant relocate for 3 years because my little sister is a will be a softmore in college in September and my other little sister will be a Junior in College in September. My stepfather cant relocate without loosing his seniority at his job. My mom says she doesn't wan't to relocate. My city has done me much evil and much good, but because of the evil I want to relocae. I think a lot of people that relocated ran into the same problems where they went because they were running from themselves and found that they were the problem not where they were trying to escape from. People are coming back to our city because of that and others are vowingnever to come back because they found success elsewhere. I want to bless my college by giving a donation to it once I become successful because they gave me scholarship monies to attend their college, and allowed me to succeed there with little or o hinderances as I faced at other colleges. I also want to sow seed into my neice and nephews lives because I want them to succeed. They are gifted, but neither one of them had a childhood like my civ;ings and I, they don't know how to catch a bus, or play outside, they have nevr sung in a church chior, They have never played games other than video games except for at school. It hurts a great deal when a child you helped raise turns against you and some of the words they said to me may have been because I hurt my mom all those years ago when I was 18 and thought I was grown and moved out on my own only to feel dumbfounded by the harshness of the world srrounding me, I came back home in 2 years. I broke my mom's heart just like those kids broke mines. I haven't been a part of their lives for the past two years because I was hospitalized and children are not allowed in the adult hospital at least not the one I was in. I cried everyday for my mother and brother. Sometimes I cried for my siter. But I hve only seen her a few times in the hospital and a few times since getting out. I havent seen my father once while in the hospital oronce during th four months since getting out. I talked to him on the phone though. My step dad doesn't understand my condition and sometimes causes it. I battle my condition everyday of my life. His family caused it when I went to their family reuinion. My brother and sister would not stay with me in my moms house so my stepdad and mom could go on that trip alone, so they took me with them. I can stay alone, we live i n a safe area, but my mom won't leave me alone in the house. I feel better when I am alone, I do alot better on my own than around other people. I must say my brother always makes me feel better. I am always happy to see my sister, but sometimes her and her children can be a handful, they have more issues than we did when we were little;do all kids or is it just them?
