LOL! This is my real hair (FRO) & NO I didnt buy it from the Chineese store!

My hair is all natuaral. People ask me all the time "Where did you buy your hair (Black women mostly)? What kind/brand is it? Is that Yacky hair (a special nappy weave)?
How much was it?" The questions and statements are mountanious.

I've been wearing my hair natural for about 8 years which has been the best thing that ever happened for me. BOLD RADIANT CONFIDENT BEAUTIFUL. A symbol reflecting power, respect and LOVE for self.

I grew up in a home where everything natural was the best-let my mama tell it. I went through changes and challenges with wearing scarfs, locks, pressing combs, tight bump pulling braids, perms, long hours (all day) in the shop to lastly- literally getting my hair "FRIED!" After seeing my flesh and soars throughout my head & along my edges, I knew my next move; Natural yah'll!
I have'nt turned back since. The truth is I was tired and ready for change anyway. Since, some of the most interesting things have come of it.

Could it be that Natural/Nappy hair is stronger than we think?
One day while waiting in traffic a lady exited her car, turned to me and put her fist in the air saying "Sistah do it, I feel it...yes!" "Girl, you take me back to the Good OlD Times! Child, you make me wana snatch off this wig (and she did). You take me back to happy times. Represent sistah...thats what I'm taking about!"

When an Asian lady asked me where had I brought my hair from and how did I get it this way I told her "I'm going to let you in on a lil secret-that is my hair is how Most Black women hair can look without weave & chemicals. Natural is quite simple- just do it

Steps to become natural: Some GOOD OLD SHAMPOO, WATER, GREASE, A GOOD PICK (BLACK POWER FIST) AND SOME INDIVIDUAL BRADS "TWIGS (thats what I like to call em')." Now u good to go!

Have Black women forgotten real from fake? We are so accustomued to using evrything else to define and make us look FINE that we cant identify natural from phony.
To have children and people from all walks of life compliment, take pictures and indulge in positive conversations with me surrounding "THE FRO" and all hair is truly a beautiful thang!

Peace,
