Are YOU ready for a change?
|
Posted By: Michael R. Grant on August 25, 2005 It's WAK! First week of school, cat's is plottin' on freshmeat, Clothes are getting more and more tasteless (hell I understand it's hot), and EVERYBODIES THIRSTY! Why is damn near the whole school so HOLLYWOOD? I left LA cause it's so damn FICIAL: ArtiFICIAL, SuperFICIAL, and all that's UN-o-FICIAL! And then cats wanna wonder why it's so hard to "find somebody" by like mid-semester. Cause eveybody straight wearin' a mask around here. Tell me, is this your campus too? If you hungry for something different, then you can relate to this. Me, I've been hungry for change a long time. So I'm taking it by the bull horns with my new found mantality. Since I've turned this new leaf, I offer you this solution: REALLY TALK TO PEOPLE ABOUT REAL ISHT. Start getting' real interesting on that a$$. Let me explain... You know how you see associates when you get back to school, and they give that quick hug and say, "how was summer?" Tha's when you hit'em with some, "Mad productive, you got time like that cause we can talk for real?" or "It was grown and sexy, so that's how the semester's gonna be. I'm trying to set the pace on some positive stuff cause this here... is a negative!" Or I'll even be like, "It was more than excellent, I was bathin' in success. Matter of fact, I guess I'mma rescue some of these freshmen and pass on some of this success. It looks like they're gonna need it." These sorts of responses give off piece of mind, and tell people that you're ready to start changing gears. The key is really getting your thoughts together about how you feel about what's going on around you and finding ways to impact the situation. I think all too often we all settle for ol'-dumb-a$$ responces from people. Not only that, but we give dumb responses right back to people. If not dumb, then it's passive. We settle for weak presentation. We settle for dumb isht to go on around us. I ask the question, are YOU ready for change, because change starts with the person first. So, If you bring change to the table, then it has to be recognized. DON'T BE PASSIVE by letting all these opportunities to talk to people about something real just fall through the cracks. Take advantage, and start being that person who you really want to be... recognizable for something real, and not the bullisht. Be active! This blog really has the same tone as so many that I have posted. However, who is really ready for change, I'm only the second person to reply to this blog. However if you see a blog that starts off, My man said that he wanted... whatever it is that he wanted, that blog will have like 60 hits right away. I feel where you are coming from. And it is cool and positive and even motivational. So what are you doing to eliminate some of the ficials?
