Posted By: Betty Walston-Sawyer on October 19, 2010 Betty (Walston) Sawyer, MSU '75, is the democratic candidate for the Utah State Senate, District 18 which includes Weber and Davis County. I'm being opposed by a former democrat, turned republican (on the last day to file) in what will be a very close race. When elected I will be Utah's first Black female to serve in the State Legislature and the second Black female elected to public office in Utah.
