Do I wanna hear FRED HAMMOND when I'm making love to my husband?

Posted By: Lisa McClendon on October 22, 2010 Some of you may answer yes to that question. But my answer is, NO WAY, HOSEA!! Although I love Fred Hammond's music, intimate moments is not the time I want to sing to his tunes. So as some of you may know, we recently signed our first artist Sean Scales. We had no idea of the magnitude of this gift we were being given. After releasing his first single "All Over Me," he sent me this track to simply "check out." He explained to me how he had written this song for his new bride sometime ago and wanted to know what we thought about it. Immediately, my mind started going. I was like OMG, this boy has started something. Now let me say that their are other artist doing this type of music but it hasn't been embraced as of yet. BUT IT IS SOOOO NEEDED!! I understand the controversy, from some, of love songs from christian artist but I understand people buying mainstream music for them to "groove" to, if you will, because there is not enough alternatives. It can be a scary thing to buy a cd for "You are My love" but then not knowing if the next song is going to be a crazy song like "3 is better than 2." ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I don't want to hear that. And God forbid if that were the next song during an intimate moment. Can someone say "mood kill.?" So I'm listening to Sean Scales' song let your "GUARD DOWN" and I'm thinking, this is what marriages in the church need. We need some romantic but sexy songs that are not offensive. We need someone to say baby in a line or two. We need what we are to afraid to admit we need. We may even need a freak song (for the bedroom of course) but that's another blog.
