I have a new found appreciation for Actors... http://www.mountolive.org/blacknoel/ I was told Wed night, if I did not know my lines, that I would be cut Thur night. I am with good people & they mean well, there is a lot riding on this Play. I know how to memorize; it is not the same as learning lines, timing, acting, body presentation, distraction, etc. We tried on costumes tonight for the 1st time. I don’t want to fail, for some reason; I know I must do this. I have a problem shutting down. I prayed to myself tonight at practice. I am harder on myself than anyone else can be. I got that whisper in my ear, you know the devil talking. Some of the veteran actors, professionals in various fields, spoke encouraging words to me after practice tonight. Thank God/Jesus for angels… I am humbly grateful. I know I must go through with this. I am up late, working on my lines… My part starts off the 1st nativity scene… The energy of the whole play starts off with my part. I could pass on it, let someone else a veteran do it. I can’t back down from this. God gift me please to overcome my shyness, please bless me to nail it. I pray to beat this fear. 1st total dress rehearsal starts Monday. No excuses, our great Directors will not settle for anything but the best. I have even had to work on my word pronunciation, I thought I speak well, but, with a microphone taped to you, my Georgian country accent has to go… Yall pray for me, I was invited to participate in a Play. I have never acted before. I have a new found appreciation for Actors...
