Hoops: Hampton Looks To Be The Team To Beat Among HBCUs

Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on December 31, 2010 Looks like Hampton University should be the cream of the crop when it comes to basketball hoops at the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) this season, but according to the 2011 Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings, that isn't saying much. Out of a list of 345 DI college basketball teams, Hampton is rated as the 206th best team in the nation - the bottom half of all college basketball teams. Following behind Hampton at position 227 is Morgan State University, but currently their record is 5-6. Top 10 HBCU ratings as of 12/31/2010: 206. Hampton University (10-3) 227.
