I have been selected to participate in the Start Up Bus Challenge
|
Posted By: on February 28, 2011 I just wanted to let you know that as an HBCU Alum (BBA, Howard University, 1992), I am proud to let you know that I have been selected to represent Baton Rouge on The Start Up Bus Challenge. If you are not familiar with the Start Up Bus, please see the website www.startupbus.com Next Monday, March 7th, I fly to Miami to board the bus. I will travel for 48 hours with other entrepreneurs, whom I will meet for the first time when I get on the bus, create a team of 4-7 people, come up with a concept, create a business plan, create a marketing plan, and pitch the idea. The pitch will be filmed and posted on the internet. There are 6 other buses from other cities doing the same thing at the same time. The top pitches by internet vote will then be given an opportunity to pitch the ideas in Austin to potential investors. On the Bus leaving Miami, as of right now, I am the only person from an HBCU on the bus as well as the only African American. I will be tweeting (@MrBCFX) and facebooking during the journey. I plan on representing HBCUs well in this historic event. Here is a link to the Press Release - http://www.pitchengine.com/pitch/128493/ Wish me luck!
