New Dean of Morehouse School of Medicine

Posted By: Stacie Coulter on March 23, 2011 By: Macon Telegraph The new Morehouse School of Medicine dean is vowing to contribute to a healthier Georgia -- fittingly enough, since she hails from the heart of Georgia. Dr. Valerie Montgomery Rice, a native of Macon, took the job Wednesday. She received her bachelor’s degree from Georgia Tech and her medical degree from Harvard University Medical School. She had been working at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tenn., where she helped establish the first Veterans Affairs outpatient clinic on an historically black college campus.
