Constitutional Strategy-vs-Programs

Nelson on January 28, 2005 Hello fellow HBCU Alums- The other day I was listening to Rep: Jesse Jackson, Jr. He was talking about how we as a nation/constituency can better serve the people of this nation. He pointed out that when we assemble to discuss key issues pertinent to our needs, be it labor,healthcare,civil rights,gender etc..,we tend to meet seperately rather than as a cohesive coalition. (example: the rainbow coalition meets in georgia-the majority attending were afro-american. the progressive democrats met at univ.of district columbia-the majority attending were caucasians. His point was that if we intend to make real change- The Constitution would only be AMENDED if all groups affected were to meet at one setting all across this nation to develop real strategies and make them become a reality.
