Birmingham, Alabama Student Accepted to Doctoral Program

Posted By: Stacie Coulter on April 28, 2011 By Adrienne Philips: Congratulations to Mr. Jonas Tellis, of Birmingham, Alabama, who was accepted into the Early Childhood Services Master’s Program at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Tellis who is majoring in Child Care Management/Early Childhood Education, will graduate May 1, 2011 from Rust College during the 145th Commencement Convocation in the McMillan Multi-Purpose Center. He is a member of the Rust College Pre-Alumni Council, the Sociology Club and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. Commencement begins at 2:00 p.m. Rust College is a historically black, co-educational, senior liberal arts college founded in 1866 by the Freedman’s Aid Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church. The College is related to the United Methodist Church, and is dedicated to serving students with a variety of academic preparations, through instruction in the humanities, social and behavioral sciences, natural science, business, technology, and education. Rust College provides an opportunity for education to all, regardless of race, religion, sex, national origin, or ethnic background.
