VSU's Justin Parker Wins CIAA Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award

Posted By: How May I Help You NC on May 20, 2011 Virginia State University’s Justin Parker was announced the winner of the 2011 CIAA Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award announced by the CIAA on May 20th. Parker is a senior Health, Physical Education and Recreation major and was a member of the Trojan football and golf teams. He will be formally recognized at the 2011 CIAA Spring Awards Luncheon on May 24th. Parker led the CIAA’s Field Goal category for the 2010 season; finished 8 for 8 (100pct) in field goals with a long of 40 yards; ranked 2nd in PAT kicking, 32-34 at 94pct- a while maintaining a 3.769 GPA. Parker also serves his community, having volunteered for the Rudy Johnson Foundation, Habitat for Humanity and participated in a breast cancer walk. Parker’s Accomplishments for the Year: * Presidential Scholar * CIAA Scholar * 2011 CIAA Special Teams Player of the Year * CIAA Specialty Player of the Week (twice) * 2010 Virginia College division Football All-State First Team * 2010 Pre-Season Offensive Honorable Mention by the Consensus Draft Services * 2011 CIAA Golf Championships * 2011 Div.
