ACCEPTANCE pt2 PARENTS!

Posted By: Kayla Robinson on June 29, 2011 Why is it that a lot of parents will accept u for the good u do but won't claim the bad. It's like, they accept u to an extent. Personally I feel if u can't claim it all, then don't claim me AT ALL. That means u gotta take the good with the celie from the color purple ugly. For example, SEXUALITY. I hear a lot of stories about people coming out 2 their parents and the parents response is always, "well, I didn't raise u that way." Well, what in the were u trying 2 raise? A rapist? Serial killer? A 300+ pound grown ass man still living with his mama sittin on the couch eating cereal out a bowl with no milk wearing a sweatshirt that say,"JAAAAMMM" across the front? Or an upstanding responsible citizen who's not gonna go thru your purse while you're sleeping? As a parent u have 2 kno that at some point your child is gonna grow up into their own person with their own lives and it is your job as a parent 2 accept them for who they are. Don't be like, "oh he/she ain't get that from me" if they mess up then turn around & claim them once they walk across that stage. So, if u can't claim ALL of me, don't claim me AT ALL.
