Posted By: Morris Bates on August 12, 2011 I was at a writer's workshop last night and met a very, no--- extremely beautiful woman at it's concluion. The conversation began right at the end of the workshop having to do with the necessity to pursue higher education. Without going into detail, I suggested that the pursuit of higher education was biblical for which she asked me to show the scriptural reference. After discussing several scripture references together, we got off into talking about marriage and the pain associated with it when you don't marry the right person. After sharing my sagas with her I listened with great interest to her describe how she had given herself to someone who emotionally abused her and their two small children over an eight year period. This woman was sooooo sweet, and sooooooo pretty to look at. I thought to myself, How can a man look at what I am looking at, hear what I am hearing, feeling the gentleness of her spirit, be blessed enough to wiin her then, turn around and abuse her?.She said she talked to her pastor who told her to stay in the marriage, even though her husband was staying with other women, and having them call him at the house on the occasions he was there. Growing up in NYC, having been educated in Beantown and Texas, and now living in the Southwest, I know a lot of throwed of men both educated and ignorant, and the stuff they do to women. Yes, I know just as many throwed off women. So, my question is, how do we stop sleeping with the enemy? From a biblical perspective, what should this woman do and why?
