Alabama A&M police officer arrested on drug charges

An Alabama A&M University police officer was placed on administrative leave after being arrested on drug charges.
Officer Jennifer Atkinson was arrested by Huntsville Policewhile off-duty Thursday afternoon for distribution of a controlled substance.
University Police said the incident happened off-campus and no university students were involved. The AAMU Police Department is cooperating with the Huntsville Police Department in the investigation.
