Howard Universitys football season opening game against Eastern Michigan was delayed from its original Saturday evening time to a Sunday noon kickoff due to severe weather conditions in Ypsilanti, Mich.
But the extra 17 hours of preparation didnt help the Howard Bison much. They were clobbered by the Eastern Michigan Eagles, 41-9, Sept. 4. at Rynearson Stadium.
Howard freshman quarterback Greg McGhee completed 15-of-27 passes for 105 yards, but couldnt get the Bison into the end zone.
Senior tailback Terrence LeFall led Howard with 53 yards rushing gained on just eight carries.
Meanwhile, Eastern Michigan poured on the points as quarterback Alex Gillett connected on 12 of 21 passes for 115 yards and two touchdowns. The Eagles also dominated with their run game as running backs Dominique Sherrer and Javonti Greene combined for 240 yards, each covering 120 yards on 14 carries. They scored a touchdown each. All-Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference linebacker Keith Pough led the game with 14 tackles for Howard. The Bison will return to D.C. to prepare for the inaugural Nations Football Classic scheduled against Morehouse College at RFK Stadium on Sept. 10. For full article click here.
