Posted By: How May I Help You NC on December 09, 2011 The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES), one of thirteen institutions in the University System of Maryland, invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean of the School of Arts and Profession. This key leadership position is central to the University’s strategic plan which includes providing high quality, accredited undergraduate and graduate programs; developing and sustaining international projects and curricula as appropriate to the programs in the School and the University mission; promoting scholarly research to support the growing programs in the School, garnering external funds to enhance the School’s programs, and supporting accreditation programs in the School. Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities: The School of Arts and Profession includes five academic departments: Criminal Justice, Education, English and Modern Languages, Fine Arts, and Social Sciences. The Dean has ultimate responsibility for the academic and administrative leadership of the School, including planning strategically for its future development by developing, assessing, and monitoring annual strategic operational plans; obtaining financial resources from external funding agencies; providing leadership for student learning outcomes assessment. The Dean will also have the responsibility for overseeing the General Studies degree program and for working collaboratively with fellow Deans and two Associate Vice Presidents for Academic Affairs. The Dean reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs. Performs other related duties as assigned. Click this link to view and apply for this job!
