Does High Price Clothes Determine Wealth

Does High Price Clothes Determine Wealth
Posted By: Anthony Dillon on October 11, 2005

Does dressing in high price clothing make you have wealth? I notice that society gets caught up with the luxuries of life; the lives of movie stars, athletes, and entertainers. When we see celebrity figures on television it is quite normal to try to follow their trends in fashion. In reality some of the people are living beyond their means to keep up with popular culture. What I think is unrealistic is having Gucci clothes and all other high end brands in college or with jobs that you know you can't afford such things. It's fine if you like to buy extravagant things, but don't look down on other people because they might have more than you do.

I live by this principle,"always stay humble because there is always someone better off than you are." Nice clothes are fine you want to look your best, but you can also look good and have money in your pocket. I don't know how many times my boys be dressed like Hollywood, but didn't have money in there pockets. Lets go to club and don't have money to get in the club. People who have high end clothes and no money in there pockets are called, "surface." Surface people are the people who worry about what people say about them and they go out their way to keep a reputation of popularity through latest fashions and cars. Ladies and fellas be beware of the high maintenance cliques. Just because a brotha or sista is dressed in their finest doesn't mean they have full pockets. Usually people who fake having money are into instant gratification. It's a shame that people classify clothes with having a status. Clothes doesn't make the person; character makes the person, and good character is everlasting wealth.
