The world famous Apollo Theater has been presenting Amateur Night for over 78 years and is a source of pride and a symbol of the brilliance of American artistic accomplishment. Black History month is a time when we celebrate the historical contributions of African Americans to the world. Historical Black Colleges and Universities have been the foundation for education in this country since the 19th century providing opportunities for African Americans to receive quality education and as graduates contribute significantly to the growth and development of our country. All February, The Apollo Theater salutes the HBCU’s alumni who continue to exemplify excellence in their professions.

Amateur Night at the Apollo challenges performers to inspire and delight the audiences who can make them an Apollo legend.

It is the quintessential talent competition, Pre-show jam fests get the party started and then, get ready to cheer and jeer as you decide which performers will BE GOOD, OR BE GONE

HBCU alumni, join the party every Wednesday in February as we salute you at the Apollo Theater. Alumni chapters will host membership tables each Wednesday so you can sign up or renew your membership.

Tickets are specially priced for HBCU alumni at $22.00.
